Ms Norah Sarmani
Oral Health Therapist / Dental Hygienist

Bachelor of Oral Health (University of Melbourne)
Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Therapy (Nanyang Polytechnic)

After graduating from Nanyang Polytechnic, Ms Norah worked in Health Promotion Board - School Dental Services for one and a half years. She believes that prevention is better than cure. She thinks that lack of dental education is the main reason for many dental problems. Her interest in wanting to know more about gum disease and children’s dentistry prodded her to further her studies at University of Melbourne for two years. Studying and treating children and adults from all walks of life in Australia has given her a broad base of experience and much confidence as a therapist. In fact, Ms Norah is one of an elite handful of graduate oral health therapists in Singapore.

Ms Norah believes that dental phobia could be eliminated if children are given the opportunity to experience the dental environment in a positive way at a very young age. She constantly uses the “Tell-Show-Do” approach when dealing with children. She also has a special interest in educating adults on gum disease and its prevention. Ms Norah is well-known for her thoroughness in cleaning teeth. She has also turned things around for many patients with sore gums. It is no wonder that some of her patients totally adore her!

Whenever possible, Ms Norah loves listening to jazz and takes long walks. An interesting novel over a lovely cup of cappuccino always makes her day.
